about

This album is dedicated to the memory of Haley Paternoster, a student at the Media Arts Collaborative Charter School, who overdosed from heroin on April 10th, 2010. Her fellow students in the advanced music production class, taught by producer and instructor Blake Minnerly, decided to make a CD of original hip-hop in her name that would attempt to raise awareness to the fast growing problem of teen opiate addiction and overdose. We took the name SoundOven both as a music act and an organization attempting to use media production to affect positive social change.
